10 Quick Steps: My Summer Wedding & Events Makeup Look

img_2620

DRESS // $78. SHOES // $49. TASSEL EARRINGS // $16. CLUTCH // $50.

We had the best time at our friends Carly and Ben’s wedding a couple weekends ago. She looked gorgeous and his face when she walked down the aisle was EVERYTHING. Anyway, I thought I would share my makeup routine step by step from that night because it stayed ALL night long through the heat and hours of dancing and drinking! Here we go..! (Click text links for the product page.. I only linked to Ulta & Nordstrom- my two favorite places to buy makeup!)

1.) I always prep my skin with this moisturizer ($30, Ulta) and do my brows before starting my makeup routine!

2.) Next I used this lightly tinted bronzing primer ($49, Nordstrom) that has SPF 20, which is great for summer evenings when the sun is still out. This bronzing primer smooths your complexion and adds a sun kissed look before using foundation. I also wear it without foundation for a light coverage look. I will also note that the brand, Colorescience, is VERY good for your skin and I’ve had several dermatologists recommend this brand to me- which makes it easy for me to spend the money on this primer!

3.) I primed my eyelids with this long lasting eye primer ($22, Ulta) in color Painterly! This is a MUST for any wedding or event so that your eyeshadow doesn’t budge or bleed.

4.) I used this $12 eyeshadow palette (Ulta) for my smokey eye. I applied the color “Taken” all over my lower lid and used one of the lighter shades in my crease to blend. I have been using this palette nonstop for the last month or two.

5.) Next I applied my favorite FAVORITE FAVORITEEEEE long lasting photo PERFECT foundation ($48, Nordstrom). I absolutely LOVE this foundation. It seriously lasts all night long and makes your skin look flawless. When I came home from this long night of dancing and drinking (and sweating-yikes), my foundation still looked great! (I wear color Buff.)

6.) I used my paint pot eyeliner ($18, Ulta) next. I applied it along my lash line with an angled brush- any angled brush will work, but I prefer this one– I’ve had it for a while.

7.) Next I applied my $8 waterproof mascara (Ulta)!

8.) I applied this blurring powder as a setting powder ($38, Ulta) in the areas that I tend to get oily. And after applying the blurring powder, I applied my go-to ABSOLUTE favorite dim lighting powder ($22, Nordstrom) alllll over my face with a big powder brush ($30, Nordstrom).

9.) Lastly I applied this matte bronzer ($15, Nordstrom) that I’ve used since high school on my cheeks, jawline, and top of my forehead. After that I applied a little bit of the best illuminating/bronzing powder ($44, Nordstrom) in color Bali Brown on my cheeks for that summer glow with the same brush! To make sure these were blended well, I went back over my face with the big powder brush I used earlier with the dim lighting powder.

10.) Lastly I applied my tried and true lip products! I used this lip liner in color Whirl to slightly overline my lips and my favorite gloss in color Ballet Pink ($9, Ulta) for the past few months!

And voila!! That probably sounded like a lot of work, but I did this whole look in less than 15 minutes. Let me know if you have any questions about these products in the comments below!! I will be sure to answer them ASAP! XOXO, Olivia

Video: My Favorite Smoky Eye Look

Hi guys!! SO sorry it’s been over a week since I’ve posted! I’ve been working on something a little different for this post. I’ve gotten a lot of questions about the smoky eye look I do for a night out, so I thought I would upload a little video on how I do the look. This is in no way a tutorial, I just thought it would be easier to explain the steps and products that I use in a video. I’m also writing out all the steps and linking all of the products below!! Let me know what you guys think!! This is my first time making a video like this, so I promise I will get better with the editing ;)

1.) Before I started the video, I applied my Ultra Repair Cream Moisturizer, Hourglass Dim Light Corrective Primer, and MAC Painterly Eyeshadow Primer.

2.) I used the original Naked Palette on my eyes. Eyelid color: “Gunmetal” using my favorite MAC 217 eyeshadow brush. Outer corner color: “Creep” using my Sigma E55 eye shading brush.

3.) I blend the two colors together with my Sigma E25 blending brush.

4.) After I’m done with my eyeshadow, I apply Christian Dior Airflash Foundation in color “Sand” with my amazing Tarte airbrush foundation brush (this can be used with all types of foundation and is the best foundation brush I have ever used!)

5.) Next, I use NYX Born To Glow Illuminator in color “Pure Gold”. I apply it with my fingers on my cheekbones, tip of my nose, and my top lip!

6.) After I’m done with all my liquid and cream products, I apply Becca Soft Blurring Powder in color “Golden Hour” with my Sigma large powder brush. This is like wearing a filter in real life- ha!

7.) In the video I use my Dusty Rose MAC eyeshadow palette in color “Cool Compliment” with an angle brush to fill in my brows. You can use any eyebrow tool! I also like this NYX cosmetics brow pencil.

8.) Next I do my eyeliner! I use my IT Brushes angle brush to apply MAC fluidliner gel eyeliner in color “Blacktrack”. I also found this gift set including the MAC fluidliner + an angle brush for under $30.

9.) Finally it’s time for bronzer! First I use Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer with my bronze and contour brush by Tarte. I use the same brush to add a little bit of color with Bobbi Brown’s Illuminating Powder in “Bali Brown”.

10.) After I put my bronzer on, I use MAC’s Mineralize Skinfinish in “Global Glow” as a highlighter. This is what makes the whole look pop! I like to use this $8 sheer powder brush from EcoTools to apply it.

11.) Next I apply L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara in “Carbon Black”. You can buy this at any drugstore or Target!

12.) Lastly, I do my lips. I apply my all time favorite lip pencil by NYX cosmetics in color “Natural”. I top it with MAC’s nymphette lip gloss! This is the best lip combination EVER!

And that’s it!! I do not do this look often.. only for fun occasions or going out on a hot date! Let me know what you think of my video and smoky eye how-to! Xoxo, Olivia

My 5 Favorite Hair Products

Hi guys!! Today I’m going to be sharing my 5 favorite hair products/tools. I’ve never been one to put a lot of product in my hair, but there are a few things I love to use & have been using for a long time that I wanted to share with you all.

1.) Pureology Hydrate Shampoo & Conditioner Bundle / $50. I have been using this shampoo & conditioner for forever. The hydrate line from Pureology is all about protecting & enhancing hair color. I swear by this stuff & know it is the reason why I can go so long without getting my hair colored! This set I linked comes with a detangled hairbrush, and it’s the best deal for the shampoo & conditioner bundled that I could find! I only wash my hair once a week (or less!), and this size lasts me a really long time.

2.) T3 Whirl Trio Interchangeable Styling Wand / $270. I know, I know- that price seems SO HIGH!! But…. this is the best wand/iron I have ever used. I have very thick, long hair & other irons just do not curl my hair the way the T3 does. And it comes with 3 barrels- so you have to think of it like you are getting 3 curling irons for $270 instead of one. This set is super easy to use, & I am so glad I invested in this!! Plus, it’s really pretty ;)

3.) TRESemmé Fresh Start Volumizing Dry Shampoo / $5. This stuff is THE BEST dry shampoo, especially for brunettes. It keeps my hair looking good for at least a week of not washing. I even use it the day after I wash my hair just for added volume at the roots. This dry shampoo also gives texture to your hair, so I spray it on before I curl or style my hair too!tresemme

4.) CHI Helmet Head Hairspray / $21. This stuff is amazing!! Sabrina gave it to me (I’m always “stealing” stuff from her beauty collection lol) and I love it so much. It smells amazing and isn’t sticky at all. And it works! My hair doesn’t fall at all. Give it a try if you don’t already have a hairspray that you love!

5.) Claw Hair Clip Set / $3. This one is kind of random- but recently I got an adorable set of claw marble hair clips & have been using them every single day. So of course I had to include them on my list! When I was searching for a similar set, I first came across this set from Nordstrom for $28. So of course I had to check Forever 21 for a better price. They have so many cute ones! Hair clips are definitely back in.00259259-02

Loving Lately

Good morning! I hope you all had a great weekend. I missed my Sunday “loving lately” post yesterday because I was in Charleston looking at wedding venues for my cousin, Claire! We had the best time and she even introduced me to one of the products that I am loving lately.

a242980.001

1.) Ultra Repair Cream by First Aid Beauty / $30. I forgot my moisturizer on our trip so I borrowed Claire’s Ultra Repair Cream. It made my skin feel amazing and fresh, AND my make up went on so smoothly. This product is great for this time of year when your face is dehydrated and needs some extra love. I have used Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream for years and will continue to, but I am adding in the Ultra Repair Cream for when my face needs that TLC.

2.) Coconut Milk Mango Reed Diffuser from Anthropologie / $26. I have this in the master bathroom and it smells amazing. I bought it because it’s so pretty, and now I am obsessed with the smell! I want to get another one for the guest bath as well.

389555_748_ss_01

3.) Tulisa Bootie by Steve Madden / $35. I have been looking for an open toed bootie like this for a while! I love the version by Kristin Cavallari, but I wasn’t willing to splurge on those ($149). These Tulisa booties are so cute and look so expensive!! I swear they look like they were at least triple the price. And they shipped for free! I will wear these with jeans, dresses, skirts, and even cut off shorts. They are a great transitional piece and super comfy.

4.) Pond’s MoistureClean Towelettes / $14. Some of you were following me when I tried the Neutrogena face cleanser wipes… and they broke out my face SO. BAD. Since I have always used Pond’s Cold Cleanser and haven’t had any issues, I decided to try their face towelettes. They work wonders!! So gentle, removes your make up, and they don’t have a strong scent! I always use my Kiehl’s Facial Cleanser ($20) after to make sure everything is off my face. I would definitely recommend giving these towelettes a try!

5.) Basket Heart Sneakers by PUMA / $65. I am so excited to bring these back out! I have a very similar pair with blue dots. They are so cute and anytime I wear them, I get so many compliments and questions about where they are from. The big ribbon is so fun! But they also come with another shoe lace if you don’t like the big silky ribbon. I will forever love my Adidas Superstar sneakers, but these basket hearts by PUMA are an option that you don’t see every day!

Alright, that’s all I have today!! Let me know what your favs are! Xoxo, Olivia

Loving Lately

Hi guys!! Hope you had a GREAT weekend!! For the last few Sundays I have been telling y’all 3 things I am obsessed with through my Instagram. I’m sharing these things on a blog post so that you can find the links easier! Yesterday was a little crazy with the big game, so I’m doing it today instead :)

SO…. Here are 3 things I have been crushing on lately.

*Click text links or pictures for product info!*

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation / $50. I have been using this foundation for about a year. I used to swear by Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, but they changed the formula and it’s just not as good as it used to be! I love my Bobbi Brown foundation because it is so natural and goes on my skin smooth and easily. It is not heavy at ALL, but still gives great coverage. I use color “Natural”- and I LOVE how many different shades this comes in- there really is a shade for everyone.

_100702474

Jergens Natural Glow + Firming Daily Moisturizer / $10. I love this self tanner!! It is that time of the year where I am at my palest… and I hate it! I have been using this self tanner lately and I’m really impressed with the gradual/natural color it gives. And it is such a great price!

81D1iSZV3KL._SX522_

Lulu & Georgia Pali Rug / $310. I can’t even tell you how many times I get asked about this Lulu & Georgia rug!! I have it layered in my living room over this similar braided jute rug. The Pali rug is so beautiful and such a great price for the quality! Definitely one of my favorite pieces in my home.

My Fall Essentials

Happy November, everyone! November is one of my favorite months of the year. I love the cooler weather, the sweaters, the candles, the tea, and of course being able to have our fireplace on almost 24/7. I love everything about being cuddled up and cozy. So, I thought I would share some of my fall essentials with you. *Click the links or photos to go to product page!*

img_5636-1

First up is this amazing packable puffer jacket by BCBGeneration. It is super lightweight so it’s great for fall, but it keeps me warm through the winter months as well. It is also great for traveling because it hardly takes up any space!  I have the olive green color and get so many compliments on it.

img_5634-1

This scarf is seriously THE BEST! I have it in several colors. My mom and sister both have it in tons of colors too- we are obsessed! They are super warm and very high quality- I’m honestly shocked that they are on sale for $18 right now. These scarves also make great Christmas gifts!!

I love curling up with this lemon herbal tea in the afternoon. I am such a coffee girl, but lately I have been limiting myself to one cup per day.  So I love to have this tea in the afternoon- not only is it delicious but hot lemon tea is SO good for you!

My face needs some extra love to keep it nice and hydrated in the fall and winter. I have been using this Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream for years. I love the glam little pot it comes in, and it lasts me the whole season! I would definitely try this if your skin tends to get dry in the colder months.

These are the pajamas I am wearing in the picture at the top of the page! They are so comfortable and not TOO thick. Fall in the Carolinas is not quite cold enough for those flannel PJs just yet ;) Pajamas that are too short are the opposite of cozy, so I love that these are available in long sizes. I order a size Small Long. I also ordered these for my bestie Sabrina last year! They make great gifts!

I love wearing these slippers around the house! They are key for the colder months while lounging around the house to avoid those ice cold floors- and they are ADORABLE. At only $20 + 30% off they are a must have! These are another great gift option :)

pumpkin candle

Last but not least, I have to have a yummy candle in each room of the house. This candle is my favorite one for fall! It makes the whole house smell amazing, even when it’s not lit (which helps justify the $18 price tag)! I will share the best Christmas candle when we get a little closer to the holidays :)

What are your fall essentials? I love any tips on how to stay super cozy and festive! Let me know in the comments! Xoxo Olivia

Liz’s Wedding Weekend

One of my best friends, Liz the Shiz, got married a few weeks ago. The wedding was an absolute dream. Everything was perfection and it was so fun spending all weekend with my closest girlfriends. I thought I would share some of what I wore on Liz’s wedding weekend with you guys.

Rehearsal dinner! (Dress; Clutch)

The rehearsal dinner was so incredibly gorgeous. It looked like a mini wedding. I wanted to wear something special to this event and decided to splurge on a few nice dresses from Revolve. They arrived the week before the wedding and were all terrible. So, I went to the mall and found this tartan dress at Nordstrom for under $70. Score. I carried this clutch that is under $50… several people even asked me if it was Chloe. To top it off I wore $30 Steve Madden block heels from Nordstrom Rack (similar here).

Morning of the wedding! (Nightshirt; Foundation)

On the morning of the wedding Liz gifted us with these adorable nightshirts. We slipped them on as we got our glam done by the Be Pretty girls. We felt so glamorous all dolled up with our matching white outfits.

Almost wedding time! (Choker)

My hot date. (Shoes)

Liz was a dream bride and let us accessorize however we wanted. I chose this choker and I cannot wait to wear it again. I think it’s sold out right now but it should be restocked soon. I wanted to be comfortable dancing all night so I wore my favorite heels. I also have them in black. Y’all… these are the real deal. They are on sale for under $50 and are the most comfortable heels ever! I went down a half size.

What are your go-to wedding looks/shoes? Let me know what your favorite pieces are and what you would like to see more of from me!

Dry Shampoo Battle

Dry shampoo aftermath- ha!

I am dry shampoo OBSESSED. Like- can’t live without it. I typically wash my hair one time a week (or less), so for me dry shampoo is a necessity. I always come back to Tresemme Fresh Start Volumizing Dry Shampoo. It is the best. It takes away all greasiness (ummm.. yuck sorry lol) and it also adds volume at the roots. The main problem I have with most other dry shampoos is that they leave the roots flat- no one wants that! It is $5-6 depending which retailer you go to. You can click below to order, or just go to your local CVS or even Food Lion. Seriously everywhere carries this staple.

tresemme

While Tresemme is bae, the Oaui Foaming Dry Shampoo does have great qualities too. It is a foaming formula- which means it is WET! This may scare some people, but it is great for days when you really need to wash it and don’t have the time. It’s like a mini hair wash for your roots. And it smells AMAZING. But, I don’t think it completely takes the greasy look away. It also doesn’t add as much volume because of the wetness. At $28, the price is a little steep, but it’s always worth a try because everyone’s hair responds so different.

oaui

What are your favorite dry shampoos? I am always looking to try new products! I love reading product reviews and am obsessed with all things beauty, so let me know what your favs are!

xoxo Olivia
